About Marsha

Yoga and Stress Management Experience

After practicing yoga intermittently for over 20 years, Marsha started teaching in the early '90's.  Strongly influenced by the Iyengar style of yoga focused on proper alignment, Marsha found the more meditative approach taught by Swami Satchidinanda a better fit, and received her certification in 1996.  She is now registered as an ERYT-500 with Yoga Alliance and continues her studies exploring the many dimensions of yoga.

With two certifications to teach Stress Management, Marsha now teaches weekly classes focusing on the stress-reducing benefits of yoga.  Her classes are designed to help those who may spend hours in front of a computer teaching them ways to weave yogic principles into their already hectic schedules.  Marsha also has classes teaching a more senior population and has seen first hand the anti-aging benefits of yoga.

In addition to weekly classes, including a "Chair Yoga" class at the Indiana Women's Prison, Marsha has served as Director of the 200-hour Teacher Training Program at the Cityoga School of Yoga and teaches modules of the more advanced 500-hour program.

Marsha also offers workshops (Embracing Midlife and Stress Management) and speaks to employees to help them better manage the demands placed on them as they try to balance their work and personal lives.  All workshops are experiencial as Marsha guides participants through a complete head-to-toe yoga class without even leaving their chairs.

In July of 2011, Marsha became a Level One practitioner of iRest Yoga Nidra with Richard Miller, Ph.D.  iRest practice combines the ancient practice of guided meditation and deep relaxation with modern science to help reduce stress and release trauma at the deeper levels.

Marsha has provided weekly yoga classes for the following institutions:
